Job description
With offices in the UK, USA and South Africa, we are a growing Travel Management Company specialising in the charity, academic and not-for-profit sectors, and we are proud and passionate about what we do.
As we expand our business in Europe we are looking for a talented Business Development Manager based in Germany to join our European sales team. You will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities within the German speaking regions across the charity, non-profit and academic sectors.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, this is a remote role and will involve travel regularly across European regions. Fluent German and English language skills will be essential to the role, as will be experience of selling into the German market, ideally within our sectors. Key responsibilities will include:
Working with the Head of Sales Germany on building a target list and strategy for key territories
Developing profitable leads through effective management of the target account list
Working to a personal sales plan that drives activity levels to create the required pipeline
Developing and managing a balanced sales pipeline to consistently meet/exceed revenue and margin targets
Responding to RFPs and managing major new bids and tenders, with the support of the bid team
Preparing and delivering high quality client presentations and web demonstrations
Maintaining current CRM information in line with the sales policy
Identifying and attending client specific exhibitions and other promotional and networking events
Job requirements
Skills & Experience Required
Proven new business sales skills in a structured B2B solutions environment, ideally in a travel management or travel industry environment
A strong drive for new business, and developing new prospects and clients in a competitive sector
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
Experience across both SME and Enterprise markets
Experience in managing and responding to RFP’s / tenders
Strong commercial acumen
Experience working with travel bookers, heads of procurement, Finance Directors and C-level Executives would be beneficial
Knowledge of working in complex sales environments, with multiple stakeholders
Strong IT competency - particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database management
